2. SMS Text Messaging
Your fax machine can be used to send and receive SMS (Short Message
Service) text messages.
Requirements:
To use this feature, you must:

Subscribe to British Telecom SMS service. The telephone number of the
British Telecom SMS Center has been preset in the machine. To subscribe,
simply send an SMS message and you will be automatically registered for
SMS service. For further information regarding the BT SMS service, please
refer to the BT website at
www.bt.com/text

Note:
Registration for SMS service is free of charge.
Note:
As the British Telecom service requires recognition of your telephone
number to provide the SMS service, 1470 (release number withheld) is
automatically dialled before the number programmed into the Center
Outbox. You can still withhold your number for normal telephone or fax
calls.

Have Caller ID service activated on your telephone line.
Important:
This machine is designed for use with British Telecom SMS service and may
not operate correctly with other services. As of the printing of this manual, this
machine is not capable of sending or receiving e-mail over the Internet.
Note:
SMS Messaging cannot be used from within a PBX.
