Connecting a Digital TV Set Top Box (STB)
You can use the HDMI1 (ARC)/HDMI2/HDMI3/HDMI4 or the INPUT5/INPUT6 (composite) or INPUT7 (component)
terminals when connecting to a Digital TV Set Top Box (STB), and other audiovisual equipment.
NOTE
• When using a DVI-HDMI adaptor or conversion cable, input the audio signal from the HDMI2/
PC AUDIO INPUT
terminal. (See
page 58.)

Using digital audio output
It is possible to output audio through the
DIGITAL
AUDIO OUTPUT
terminal. PCM or Dolby Digital audio
outputs from the terminal.

NOTE
• The DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT terminal usually outputs the
same audio from the speakers. (The audio of the content
you are viewing is output from the terminal.)
• The DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT terminal does not output
some signals, depending on devices and software.
• Optical digital audio will be output in 2-ch stereo when it is
from the external equipment connected to the TV using an
HDMI cable.
Connecting a PC
You can use the PC terminal when connecting to a PC. (See
page 66.)
Connecting a USB hard disk drive (HDD)
You can use USB2 (HDD) terminal when connecting a USB
hard disk drive.

NOTE
• If the image is not in sync with the audio, check the settings
of the connected surround system.
• Letting the TV output the audio to an AV amplifi er:
- When you connect ARC-compatible equipment, use the
HDMI1 terminal.
- If the equipment to be connected is not compatible with
the ARC, connect an optical fi bre cable.
