6.3. Replacing Reagents
WARNING
Multiple hazards
For safe handling of the reagents, you must read and understand
the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Wear appropriate
protective equipment.
Note:
• It is recommended to replace the reagents when there is
approximately 2–3 cm of reagent left in each bottle. Do not use
up the reagents completely!
• Keep the old reagents until you are sure that the instrument
measures correctly with the new reagents.
• Do not reuse the reagent bottles as this poses a risk of
contamination or dilution errors.
Reagent

At the standard measurement interval, the following amounts of
reagents are consumed.
Replacing
reagents
1 Prepare the reagents according to the separate method sheet.
2 Insert the reagent tubes all the way to the bottom of the corre -
sponding bottles (see Reagent tube numbering, p. 35 ).
3 Check that there is an additional small hole in the lid of each
bottle that allows air to enter.
Final steps 4 Prime the reagent tubes (see Priming the Reagent Tubes, p. 24 ).
5 Calibrate the analyzer (see Manual Measurement and Calibra -
tion, p. 39 ).
