Chapter 2: IMS-1000 Programming
Introduction
This chapter is designed to help you program and use the IMS-1000 to its fullest potential. The
IMS-1000 system helps you maintain, monitor, expedite and control the things that affect your
information infrastructure.
Default Login
To login for the first time open a web browser and enter the IP address of the IMS-1000 into the
address bar and hit enter. The default username is
admin
and the default password is
ims1k
.
Note
: The default username and password should be deleted once an Administrator profile is
configured.
Configuring the System Settings
After logging in click on the Settings button and the window below will load.

The following five setting categories will need to be configured:
• System • Network • Modem • Voice • Templates
System Settings
The System settings are used to describe and configure general properties of the system. The infor-
mation entered into the
Name
,
Description
, and
Location
fields will appear at the top of the web
page and on alarm messages sent via e-mail. Use these to help identify the facility and/or location
so that when alarms occur you’ll know exactly where the trouble occurred. Configure the system
time by checking the
Change System Time
box and adjusting the date and time. Click
Save
when
finished.
This screen also provides an entry for a
Time Server
. This can be used to periodically synchronize
the system clock to keep it accurate. Simply enter the address of a time server in this field and it
will automatically synchronize to it on a periodic basis. You can enter a host name or IP address
in this field. The system supports NTP (Network Time Protocol), TP (Time Protocol), and DP
(Daytime Protocol).
