Diagnosis procedure
Check procedure for power inverter.
NOTE:
in this procedure, level 1 diagnostics
does not always
permit identification of the fault. You are therefore advised to perform
an
accurate visual check
on each power component or switch to
level 2 diagnostics
.
IMPORTANT!: breakage of the inverter can cause breakage of the input rectifier bridge and you are therefore advi-
sed to follow the diagnostic phases in the sequence given in this manual.
(level 1)
Stage 1 : Disconnect the machine from the mains.
Remove the upper cover of the machine.
Disconnect cables no.22 and no.23 from board 15.14.254 (and insulate the terminals).
Connect a wire between TP6 and TP3 (undervoltage protection bypass).
Checks :
Visual check: no traces of burning on the power IGBTs or on board 15.14.254
yes
: go on ;
no
: replace part 14.60.060
With a multimeter set to diode testing, check between the points of board 15.14.254 :
D-S from IG1 to IG6
=
OPEN
S-D from IG1 to IG6
=
approx. 0.4V
With a multimeter set to Ohm, check between the points of figure:
G-S from IG3 to IG6
=
10 kOhm
G-S of IG1 and IG2
=
22 Ohm
yes
: go on ;
no
: replace part 14.60.060
(level 2)
Stage 2 : Machine connected to mains.
Front panel selector set to MMA.
Close the master switch.
Checks : With an oscilloscope set to:
Time scale =
5 us
Amplitude scale =
5 V
Measure:
G-S of IG4 and IG6
=
oscillogram no.1
G-S of IG3 and IG5
=
oscillogram no.2
G-S of IG1 and IG2
=
oscillogram no.3
yes
: go on ;
no
: replace part 14.60.060
NOTE :
the signals of the previous oscillograms will be slightly unstable in frequency.
Stage 3 : Switch the machine off and disconnect from the mains.
After waiting a few minutes, reconnect cables no.22 and no.23 to board 15.14.254.

Important! Red cable to + screw and black cable to - screw)
Reconnect the machine to the mains.
Close the master switch.
Checks : With oscilloscope set to:
Time scale =
5 us
Amplitude scale =
100 V
Measure:
D-S of IG6
=
oscillogram no.4
D-S of IG5
=
oscillogram no.5
yes
: go on ;
no
: replace part 14.60.060
NOTE :
the frequency of the signals is f = 51.5 (+/-1) kHz .
