Stage 5 : Machine connected to mains power supply
Close the master switch
Front panel selector set to MMA
Checks :
Check:
GREEN led on front panel = ON
yes
: go on ;
no
: perform
power supplies checking procedure
With a tester set to Vdc, check between points:
b-bb = 565Vdc @ 400Vac (=Vin X 2 )
yes
: go on ;
no
: check the condition of the tracks on board 15.14.233
Perform
power inverter checking procedure
and quit the procedure checking that cables no.22 and no.23 are
connected to board 15.14.254 and that the short circuit created by the wire between TP6 and TP3 has been
eliminated
(
Important! Red cable to + screw and black cable to -screw
) .
With a tester set to Vdc, check between points:
c-cc = 80 Vdc
yes
: go on ;
no
: perform
power inverter checking procedure
and
secondary power diodes checking procedure
.
IMPORTANT! When taking this measurement, make sure that MMA operating mode has been selected.
The TIG H.F. test will destroy the instrument applied to the machine output terminals due to the H.F. discharge.
Stage 6 : Select MMA operating mode from the front panel and apply the load 3 + 8 or weld, selecting TIG DC LIFT 2-strokes
operating mode.
Set 120 A via the potentiometer on the front panel.
Checks :
With the shunt on the ground cable and a tester set to mVdc, measure the current delivered:
I = 120 A
yes
: go on ;
no
: perform
current adjustment circuits checking procedure.
Stage 7 : As above.
Gas flow rate = 5-6 l/min , gas pressure = 1 bar.
Red electrode of adequate diameter.
Select TIG DC H.F. 2-strokes operating mode.
Checks :
Check that gas comes out of the torch.
yes
: go on ;
no
: with a tester set to Vac, measure 24 Vac at the solenoid valve terminals.
yes
: replace the solenoid valve ;
no
: replace front panel FP106
Check correct sparking of the arc.
yes
: go on ;
no

perform
H.F. generation circuit checking procedure
check
- the condition of the H.F. transformer
- the condition of the connection cable between the H.F. transformer and board 15.14.192
- polarity of connection of above cable to board 15.14.192 according to fig.
- seal of gas circuit inside the machine
Stage 8 : As above.
Checks :
Press each button on the front panel and check that the related led comes on indicating that the function
has been selected.

: replace the front panel FP106
