Use only lint-free tissues, OPTO-WIPES

, or cotton swabs to clean the optical
windows.

Use the software to update the reference spectrum.

Use only clean DI water that has been stored in clean glassware.

Use Parafilm
®
wrap to capture DI water in the optical area of the sensor. Do not use
cups, a bucket, or a tank to collect a reference sample.
1.
Clean the sensor:
a.
Flush the sensor and the optical area with clean water to remove debris and
saltwater.
b.
Clean the metal parts external to the optical area so that the Parafilm
®
will seal.
c.
Std. SUNA only: If the sensor is equipped with a wiper, carefully move it away
from the optical area.

Cut and stretch a length of approximately 40 cm (16 in.) of Parafilm
®
.
3.
Wind several layers of the Parafilm
®
around the metal near the optical area.

Break a small hole in the top of the Parafilm

and fill the optical area with DI water.
