WARNING
IF THE BREATHING TUBE IS REMOVED FROM THE FACEPIECE, RESPIRATORY
PROTECTION WILL BE TERMINATED AND THE USER WILL BE BREATHING
THE ATMOSPHERE THE RESPIRATOR WAS INTENDED TO PROTECT AGAINST
WHICH MY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
WARNING
IF THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT SHOULD BECOME HOT TO TOUCH,
IMMEDIATELY LEAVE THE AREA REQUIRING RESPIRATORY PROTEC-
TION. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

USE OF PROFLOW 2 RESPIRATOR CONTINUED...
EMERGENCY USE
The SCOTT PROFLOW 2 respirator is a powered air-purifying respirator and must never
be used in an atmosphere which is immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH). The
PROFLOW 2 respirator may only be used in atmospheres when the user can escape with-
out the use of a respirator.
If, for any reason, the blower assembly stops operating, becomes very noisy, or the battery
compartment becomes hot to the touch, immediately leave the area requiring respiratory
protection and turn the power switch to position OFF.
If, for any reason it becomes impossible to inhale through the respirator during use, the
breathing tube may be removed from the facepiece by unthreading from the threaded
connector. THIS WILL TERMINATE RESPIRATORY PROTECTION AND THE USER WILL
BE BREATHING THE ATMOSPHERE THE RESPIRATOR WAS INTENDED TO PROTECT
AGAINST. THE USER MUST LEAVE THE CONTAMINATED ATMOSPHERE IMMEDIATELY.
The respirator must be removed from service and tagged for repair.
Do not allow the blower assembly to be placed under water during use as water will be
drawn into the air filtration elements. If accidental immersion occurs during use, turn off
blower by setting the power switch to the (OFF) position, leave the area requiring respira-
tory protection, remove the respirator from service and tag for inspection and/or repair. If it
becomes impossible to inhale through the air filtration elements after accidental immer-
sion, proceed as directed above.
8.
If the battery compartment should become hot to touch, do not remove the facepiece,
but continue to breathe through the respirator and immediately leave the contami-
nated area. Once in a safe atmosphere, turn the power switch to the OFF position,
decontaminate if required, and check the respirator.
NOTE
IF THE ORIGINAL AIR FILTRATION ELEMENTS ARE RETAINED FOR REENTRY, CARE
MUST BE TAKEN NOT TO EXCEED THE TOTAL TIME OF ESTIMATED USEFUL LIFE OF
THE AIR FILTRATION ELEMENTS VERSUS THE CONCENTRATION OF THE PARTICU-
LAR CONTAMINANT IT IS BEING USED TO PROTECT AGAINST.
