Troubleshooting your Dazzle Card Reader
Common Troubleshooting Questions and Answers
Installation and use of your card reader is relatively easy and normally should not produce complica-
tions. However, if you are experiencing difficulties with your card reader, please refer to the
following troubleshooting guide for a possible solution. Additional tips and solutions as well as
product information can be found on our interactive Support Website: www.Dazzle.com/support.
I have connected my card reader to my computer’s USB port and was unable
to find the appropriate drivers during installation. What do I do?
PC Compatible:
Prior to connecting the card reader to your computer’s USB port, you must first install
the driver software (if required). The Memory Stick, CompactFlash, and
MultiMediaCard/Secure Digital card readers do not require driver installation on Windows
Me, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. The SmartMedia card reader requires driver
installation. The SmartMedia reader software for Windows 98, Me, 2000, and XP, is
located on the accompanying installation CD-ROM as is the Windows 98 software for the
CompactFlash, Memory Stick and MultiMediaCard/Secure digital readers. Please refer to
the sections titled “Installing the Driver Software on Windows 98, Me, and 2000” or
“Installing the Driver Software on Windows XP” respectively.
Macintosh:
Prior to connecting the card reader to your computer’s USB port, you must first
install the driver software (if required). The Memory Stick, CompactFlash, and
MultiMediaCard/Secure Digital card readers do not require driver installation on Mac OS
9.x and greater. The SmartMedia card reader requires driver installation on Mac OS 8.5
and greater. SmartMedia, CompactFlash, and MultiMediaCard/Secure Digital Reader
driver software for Mac OS 8.6-9.x is located on the accompanying installation CD-ROM.
The Memory Stick card reader is only supported on Mac OS 9.x and above where it does
not require driver software installation. For driver software installation information, please
refer to the section titled “Installing the Driver Software”
