NOTE: For takeoff in noise sensitive areas, refer to Para 4-17 for
noise impact reduction procedures.
Determine that hover area and takeoff path are clear.
Follow normal helicopter takeoff procedure with engine speed at 90
to 91% N
2.
Governed N
2
RPM should increase 1/2 to 1% on takeoff - adjust as
necessary to maintain N
2
at 91%.
WARNING
IF SUDDEN, UNUSUAL OR EXCESSIVE VIBRATIONS
SHOULD OCCUR DURING FLIGHT, A PRECAUTIONARY
LANDING SHOULD BE MADE. NO FURTHER FLIGHT
SHOULD BE ATTEMPTED UNTIL THE CAUSE OF THE
VIBRATION HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AND CORRECTED.
Follow recommended takeoff profile shown in Height Velocity
Diagram (Fig. 5-4).
Use cyclic trim as desired.
NOTE: Proper longitudinal trim is established when small fore and
aft cyclic movements require the same force.
