..10 Manual sequence change
A new sequence may be selected by using the modification keys .

key to reduce the sequence meter .

key to increase the sequence meter .
Use the
key to adopt the entered sequence .
Stimulation will restart by setting intensity (setting period-flashing
cycles) whenever a new sequence is selected .
..11 Changing intensity during stimulation
During stimulation, intensity can be changed at any time by
pressing the modification keys . The flashing dot belonging to the
channel becomes a circle . Intensity can be varied .
In programmes with an intensity modulation, the channel to be
changed is brought to the set intensity with an intensity ramp
lasting 1 second . If intensity is not changed for 5 seconds, the
programme course is continued .
..1 Electrode recognition
The device constantly monitors correct connection of the electrodes
and cables . If an electrode becomes detached from the skin or the
connection between the cables and the electrodes or cables and
device is interrupted, the device ends the stimulation on the corre-
sponding channel . The intensity for this channel is set at 0 . A short
acoustic signal indicates this process .
Stimulation is also automatically stopped (acoustic signal) if inten-
sity is increased without a correctly connected electrode pair .
..1 Stopping stimulation
Stimulation may be stopped at any time in two different ways:
Use the
key to stop stimulation .
The on/off key switches off the appliance and stops stimulation .
..14 Switching off the appliance
Pressing the on/off key will switch off the device .
The
EMP 4 Expert
will switch itself off when no key is pressed for 3
minutes or when stimulation is not started .
