Instructions for maintenance
Before and after use:
Always rinse your cookware thoroughly and dry it well. To clean it,
please use hot water, a standard detergent, a soft cloth or a sponge or a soft brush. Hard
objects, steel wool or abrasive detergents are not suitable. Remnants of food on the outside
should be removed immediately after the cooking process with hot water to avoid staining.
Copper oxidises. The discolouration that occurs as a result of oxidation (patina) is desired and
gives the cookware a stylish touch. Anyone who wants to remove the discolouration that
occurs over the course of time should use a standard copper polish foam (e.g. Delu). Apply
this in the direction of the grain. Please observe the recommendations of the manufacturer
of the copper polish foam.
As an alternative to a standard polish foam, lemon juice or a home-made mixture of ½ cup
white wine vinegar, ¼ cup table salt and ¼ cup mild abrasive detergent may be used for clea-
ning the cookware. Please proceed as follows: wash the cookware with the relevant liquid,
rinse it and then polish it.
N.B.:
Please do not wash the copper cookware in the dishwasher; traditional dishwasher
detergents are highly chlorinated and may damage the surface of the cookware.
