Operation with natural gas
The nozzle for natural gas (a), golden slotted screw, is mounted in the centre of the housing’s
bottom upon delivery. Connect the schuett phoenix II to the gas supply by using a technically
appropriate DVGW*-tested gas-safety hose (accessory). Slip the hose onto the previously mounted
olive-shaped hose coupling of the gas supply (see page 10, item 2.).
Operation with propane/butane gas
The nozzle for propane/butane gas (b), blue slotted screw, is screwed sideways to the centre in the
housing’s bottom upon delivery. For change of nozzle, remove the nozzle for natural gas, e.g. by
using a coin, and insert the required nozzle for propane/butane gas. Tighten both nozzles again.
Mount the cartridge adapter or the gas-safety hose to the gas connection (H).
Operation with cartridge adapters incl. pressure reducer and gas-safety hose
Tighten the gas-safety hose’s nut
(Attention: left-hand thread)
to the gas connection (H) of the
schuett phoenix II by using a 17 mm combination wrench.
Make sure the stopcock of the pressure reducer is locked (turn the knurled screw to the very right).

Cartridges without valve, e.g. C 206
Unscrew the cartridge holder from the pressure reducer and insert the
cartridge. Screwing the cartridge holder onto the pressure reducer, opens the
cartridge. Turn the knurled screw of the pressure reducer to the left in order
to open the stopcock. The burner is now ready for operation.
Attention:
When removing from the adapter,
please make sure the cartridge is completely
empty - gas may leak. However, the complete
adapter incl. cartridge, holder and gas-safety
hose may be removed from the burner at any time without gas leakage
after the knurled screw of the pressure reducer has been closed at the
adapter.
Cartridges with valve, e.g. CV 270/300/470, CG 1750, CP 250
The pressure reducer is screwed or plugged directly onto the cartridge. Open the stopcock of the
pressure reducer by turning the knurled screw to the left, the burner is now ready for operation. Due
to the integrated valve in the cartridge, the pressure reducer may be removed without gas leakage at
any time.
Operation with CV 360-gas cartridges
Tighten the CV 360 adapter hose’s nut to the gas connection thread of the
schuett phoenix II (1/4“-left-hand thread) by using a 17 mm combination
wrench. Make sure the stopcock of the pressure reducer is closed (knurled screw
is turned to the very right). Insert the CV 360-cartridge with an audible click. In
this manner, the valve in the CV 360-cartridge will be opened. Sometimes the
cartridge needs to be rotated by 90° to completely open the valve. Now open the
stopcock of the pressure reducer by turning the knurled screw to the left, the
burner is now ready for operation. For exchanging the cartridge, simply pull the
CV 360-gas cartridge out of the adapter. This locks the valve and allows for
removing even partially empty cartridges from the adapter.
