4. Functions and application
4.1 Manual unlocking
The lock can be unlocked manually at any time via the locking cylinder. Although a
freewheel cylinder is not required, the position of the locking cam must be no more
than 5 mm (30°) in the direction of the faceplate with the key in the removal position.
When using position-adjustable cylinders with 45° indexing, the cylinder cam must be
brought into the opposing position (see fig. 2).
If the locking cylinder is actuated when the motor is running, the lock switches to
an overload protection. In doing so, the lock ignores all incoming control signals for 20 s. The lock also
indicates this event via a red LED in the lower area of the latchbolt hole (see fig. 1).
4.2 Motor-driven unlocking
The latchbolt retracts following an impulse (+ 24 V DC) at the control input (pin 9/green) and returns to the
"latch position" once the programmed hold-open time has elapsed (as-delivered condition 2 s).
If the door is open, the latchbolt remains in the "latch position“ and only moves mechanically to the
"locked position" after engaging in the striker.
The lock can only be securely locked once again after accidental operation of the control signal if the
latchbolt can move into the striker without resistance when the door is closed. If door gasket pressure is
anticipated, a sufficiently sized door closer will be required.
Alternatively, the door can be fully automated using a door drive.
If the lock cannot unlock with the assistance of the motor, e.g. due to excessive load on the door leaf, it
switches to overload protection. In doing so, the lock ignores all incoming control signals for 20 s. The lock
also indicates this event via a red LED in the lower area of the latchbolt hole (see fig. 1).

In order to prevent unauthorised persons from accessing,
the key must always be removed after unlocking!
When using a knob cylinder, take care that the cylinder
cam, once ist has been unlocked, is returning to its initial
position!
