HOW TO PREPARE JOGHURT
•
Before initial use, wash jars and removable parts with warm soapy water, and wipe dry.
•
Wipe the inner body surface with wet cloth.
•
Place the yoghurt maker on a firm, level surface. The appliance is ready for operation.
•
To prepare seven jars of yoghurt you will need milk (1 l) and yeast (1 g).
•
Add yeast into the container filled with milk and stir thoroughly.
•
Pour the resulting mixture in jars.
•
Place jars without lids into the yoghurt maker.
•
Close the yoghurt maker lid and connect it to the mains.
•
The reminder scale (1 to 12) is used to set the estimated time of readiness (in hours). Align the lid indicator with the
proper scale digit.
•
To start cooking process, press the switch. The indicator lamp lights.
•
The cooking time depends on the desirable thickness of yoghurt (5 to 8 hours).
•
During cooking, the temperature is maintained within the range
of 38 to 40 °С.
•
At the end of the cooking process, press the switch again to turn off the appliance.
COOLING THE JOGHURT
•
Remove the lid carefully to prevent condensate from getting into the jars.
•
Close the jars with lids. Using the stickers supplied, write down the product expiry date on each lid. The storage
period of yoghurt stored in the refrigerator is generally 8 to 10 days.
•
Before serving the yoghurt, place it into the refrigerator and keep it cooled for at least one hour.
USEFUL HINTS
MILK
•
Use milk with rich or semi-rich fat content, which does not require boiling (e.g., heat-treated or dry milk).
•
Before use, boil and chill the raw or pasteurized milk, and sift it to remove foam.
•
The most tasty and flavourous yoghurt can be obtained from whole and fatty milk.
•
Add two or three table spoons of dry powdered milk per liter of milk to obtain thicker yoghurt.
•
Add jam, chocolate or juice to obtain yoghurt with special taste.
YEAST
•
You may use the following products as yeast:
- Commercially supplied yoghurt (without flavour) with long shelf life.
- Any dried dehydrated enzyme available in drug-stores or dietary stores. When using such enzyme for the first time,
add two hours to the cooking time.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
•
Disconnect the yoghurt maker from the mains and let the appliance cool down completely.
