Removing and Cleaning Water Strainer Elements
Both the low-pressure and, if fitted, the high-pressure water pump
are fitted with strainers to ensure that foreign matter does not enter
the pump. The following steps detail the recommended cleaning
procedure:-
1. Move shut off valve(s)

into the closed position.
2. Move drain valves
(

into the open position.
3. Unscrew the filter bowl
(

from the housing
(

4. Remove the element
(

)
.
5. Washout the filter bowl.
6. Washout the element with clean water or replace if it is too
contaminated.
7. Before reassembling the unit, apply some grease to the o-ring
(

to ensure a water tight fit with the filter bowl and housing.
8. Refit the element and filter bowl tighten hand tight.
9. Close drain valves

10. Open any closed shut off valves
