5 ASSEMBLY
The precision sine tables are attached either to the face sides with clamps or, for larger magnets, with screws in
through holes.
For chucking contoured parts or for attaching permanent stops, appropriate recessed areas can be integrated into
the pole plate. It has to be ensured in these cases that the plate remains watertight and that the windings on the
inside are not damaged by excessive milling or drilling. In case of doubt, please consult the manufacturer.
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock!
An electric shock can result in death or serious injuries.
■
Always connect while the power supply is disconnected.
■
Please note the separate operating instructions when connecting the
electronic polarity reversal control unit.
To achieve the highest possible accuracy, we recommend grinding the pole plate on the machine where it will be
used, using the following procedure:
1. Clamp the sine table to the machine table. For relatively short devices, we recommend tight clamping on one
side and only very light clamping on the other side. This provides for a potential relative expansion in longitudi-
nal direction between the sine table and the machine table.
2. Leave the magnetic chuck switched on for 30 to 45 minutes at normal coolant temperature with the workpiece
in place, so the device can stabilise. Pre-machine workpieces if applicable.
3. Always grind the pole plate of the magnet while magnetised to achieve a perfectly level pole plate under nor-
mal conditions.
