5.10 Replacing the Ribbon Sensor

Required tool:

• Phillips screwdriver

Make sure that the printer is in power off mode, then disconnect the power cord from 
the AC outlet.

Open the 

top cover

 of the printer.

CAUTION

Open the top cover fully to prevent accidental drop of the cover.

Open the 

rear housing covers

 from the printer.

Refer to 

Section 5.1.1 Opening the Rear Housing Cover

 for details.

Disconnect the 

ribbon feed sensor 

cable

 

.

On the front of the printer, remove the 

thumbscrew

 

 attached to the 

cover

 

 

on top of the 

print head assembly

. 

Remove the 

cover

 

 and place it aside.

Remove two 

screws

 

 and the 

belt 

cover
