9-5. Removing Indoor Fan
(1) Remove the seal flange by taking out 2 screws.
(Fig. 9)
(2) Remove 2 screws holding the bearing ass'y from
the chassis. (Fig. 10)
When installing the bearing ass'y back on the
chassis, be sure to line up the fan shaft with
the bore of the "self-aligning bearing" before
pushing it in place. If the shaft hits the edge of
the floating part of the bearing, it will rotate
and realignment will be necessary. (Fig. 11)
(3) Insert a hex wrench at the right end of the fan boss
and turn it counterclockwise to loosen the fan.
(Fig. 12)
Do not back the set screw all the way out of
the fan boss. Otherwise, it might fall off and
will be very difficult to pick up. (Fig. 12)
(4) Slide the indoor fan out of the chassis through the
opening in the left end where the bearing ass'y
was removed. (Fig. 13)
