The
Security
window provides a list of tabs that can be used to view and set up the security
confi guration of the SpeedNet Radio. Selecting a tab will provide a list of confi gurable
options.
The
Encryption
tab, shown in Figure 78, can be used to enable or disable encryption,
change encryption keysets, and upload network and security configuration files. The
following parameters can be configured:
• Set Network Confi guration
—
After creating a network confi guration fi le using the
SpeedNet KeyGen Utility (see the “Network Confi guration” section on page 22), this
option allows administrators to upload the network-confi guration fi le to the SpeedNet
Radio. Click the
Browse
button to locate the network confi guration fi le, which will
have a .dat fi le extension. Click the
Upload
button to insert the network confi gura-
tion into the SpeedNet Radio. Note that the network-confi guration fi le loaded into a
particular radio must either be encrypted with that radio’s MAC address (for initial
confi guration) or with a keyset loaded into that radio.You will be prompted to log in to
the SpeedNet Client Tool after the network confi guration has been applied. Note that
after a radio is reset to the factory setting, the network confi guration and/or setting
the security confi guration are the only actions allowed on that radio
• Set Security Confi guration
—
After creating a security confi guration (.rss) fi le using
the SpeedNet KeyGen Utility (see “Generating a Security File” on page 17), this option
allows administrators to upload the security confi guration fi le to the SpeedNet Radio.
Click the
Browse
button to locate the security confi guration fi le, which will have an
.rss fi le extension. Click the
Upload
button to insert the security confi guration into
the SpeedNet Radio. You will be prompted to log in after the security confi guration
has been applied. Note that after a radio is reset to factory settings, network confi gura-
tion and/or setting security confi guration are the only actions allowed for that radio
• Keyset
—Specifi es the encrypted keyset currently being used. All SpeedNet Radios
within the network must use the same keyset in order to communicate with each other.
• Use Latest
—Click the
Use Latest
button to use the keyset with the highest keyset
number.
All radios must use the same keyset in order to communicate
