The display has three areas:

Description
First line
Displays various icons. See

Middle
Display messages, instructions,
and any information that you
enter, such as a number to be
dialled.
Last line
Shows the functions currently
assigned to the two soft keys.

Shows the received signal strength. The
more bars, the stronger the signal.
Appears when a call is in progress. When
your SIM card supports ALS (Alternate
Line Service), this icon may appear with
the number 1, 2, or both.
