16 2A. Phone Basics
If the incoming call is from a number stored in your Contacts, the
entry’s name is displayed. You may also see the caller’s phone
number, if available.
If you set Call Answer to
Talk Key
(see “Call Answer Mode” on
page 38), you also see the following options. To select an option,
press the corresponding softkey.

Silent (left softkey) to mute the onboard speaker and
temporarily silence the ringer.

Ignore (right softkey) to send the call to your voicemail box.
Answering a Roam Call With Call Guard Enabled
Call Guard is an option that helps you manage your roaming
charges when making or receiving calls while outside the home
network. Please see “Roaming” on page 75 for more information
about roaming.

Guard” on page 76 for additional information.)
Ending a Call

Missed Call Notification
When you do not answer an incoming call, your screen displays
the Missed Call log.
To display the Missed Call entry from the notification screen:

Highlight the entry and press . (To dial the phone
number, press .)
To display a Missed Call entry from standby mode:

Press > Missed Alerts .
2.
Highlight an entry and press .
Calling Emergency Numbers
You can place calls to 911 (dial ), even
if your phone is locked or your account is restricted.
Note
To quiet the ringer, press or press the volume button.
Note When your phone is off, calls go directly to voicemail.
Note When you place an emergency call, your phone
automatically enters Emergency mode. Not all functions are
available in Emergency mode.
