If you press the shutter button after selecting the

res once to check the shooting conditions (

power ratio of the

ash). Do not move the camera until the

ash

res a second time.
Using the
fl
ash frequently will reduce the life of the battery.
Under normal operating conditions, the
fl
ash usually re-charges
within 5 seconds. If the battery is weak, the charging time will be
longer.
The camera
fl
ash does not operate in the [Movie] and some
Scene modes.
Take photographs within the
fl
ash range.
The image quality can be degraded if the subject is too close or
highly re
fl
ective.
When taking an image in poorly lit conditions with the
fl
ash, there
may be a white speck in the captured image. The speck is caused
by light from the
fl
ash re
fl
ecting off atmospheric dust.
If the
fl
ash doesn’t pop up, you can not use the
fl
ash.
Flash ( ) / Left button
When the menu is displayed on the LCD screen, pressing the Left
button shifts the cursor to the left tab.
When the menu is not displayed on the LCD screen, the
fl
ash ( )
/Left button operates as the
fl
ash ( ) button.
Selecting the
fl
ash mode
1. Press the Flash pop-up button to pop up the
fl
ash.
2. Select the desired Recording mode, You can select any mode
but the [Movie] mode. (p.22)
3. Press the Flash button until the

ash mode indicator icon you
want appears on the LCD screen (Fill-in, Red-eye Reduction,
etc.).

Use the correct

ash mode to suit the environment and conditions.
