Additional Equipment Connection
Common Bell
A common bell and power source can be connected to the general-purpose dry contact pins of
the MISC port of the system via a DC LIU. A continuous or interrupted closure of the contacts
can be programmed using MMC 204.
Installing Common Bell
1. Connect a common bell and power source using an approved DC Line Isolating Unit to the
general-purpose dry contact pins of the MISC port. The power source must be suitable for
the bell connected, eg a DC source for a DC bell or an AC source for an AC bell.
2. Set a common bell controlling method to continuous or interrupted type (MMC 204).
3. Assign the common bell (DN 361) to a particular station group (MMC 601).
4. Designate the station group in which the common bell is included to receive calls from a
particular direct trunk.
5. The following table shows the arrangement of pins of the modular jack for connection of a
common bell.
