7.2 Firmware update
To start an update of the SAM HOME/SAM MOBILE Gateway:

Right-click the device you want to update.
Alternatively:
Î
Click 'Update'.
The following conditions must be met for the update to work:
1.
New firmware (*.b66 or *.B56 file)
2. An FTP protocol (firmware version 2.0 and higher) or a proprietary communication is
used between the software and the device (all other devices). If a firewall is installed (e.g.
Windows
®
), it must let all protocol telegrams through.
3. The gateway is addressed over its IP address. In this case, the correct IP address and sub-
net mask must be entered.
A valid gateway configuration is essential before an update is performed to ensure that the
gateway does not change to the error mode during the update process. Otherwise, the errors
may lead to the connection being interrupted. In this case, the update will fail.
