Installation
5 Installation
The work described in this section is only to
be performed by personnel appropriately
qualified to carry out such tasks.
5.1 Installation conditions
Work position
The work position for the gateway is the
front view onto the operating controls on the
gateway seen from the position of operating
personnel.
Operators must ensure that, after installation
of the gateway, the operating personnel can
perform all necessary work safely and easily
access the device from the work position.
Mounting orientation

Mount the gateway in the upright posi-
tion only:
5.2 Preparation for installation
Proceed as follows:

Check the gateway to make sure that it is
clean and not damaged.
Î
Lay out the necessary material and tools
to have them ready during installation
work.
The kit for pipe mounting is available as an
accessory (item no. 1402-1910)
5.3 Setting up the optional
additional functions
If the option modules, GSM module and
standby power supply have not already
been installed when the gateway was deliv-
ered, we recommend installing them before
installing the gateway.

Risk of damage to components for optional
additional functions due to electrostatic
discharge.

Observe the ESD requirements according
to IEC 61340-5-1.
1. Make sure that the gateway is not yet
connected to a electrical power supply.
2. Undo the five screws on the cover and
remove the cover.
