SD CARD AND USB MODE
Secure Digital (SD or SDHC) cards can be used with the device for playback of MP3 or WMA files.
SD or SDHC cards up to 16GB are supported. However, there are many different cards variants avail-
able and not all cards can be guaranteed to work in the device. SD or SDHC cards must be formatted
using the FAT or FAT32 filing system in order to operate with the device.
Playback control in SD card and USB mode is similar to CD MP3/WMA mode, please refer to CD mode.
MP3/WMA files are played back in the order that they are written to the SD card and USB memory
device by your computer, except when Random playback is selected.
Playing the contents of a MMC/SD/SDHC memory card
1. Insert the card carefully with its label side facing outwards and gold contacts first into the
SD Card
socket
.
Notes:
The hi-fi system must be switched off while the memory card is being inserted. If it is not switched
off, data can be lost.
Do not use excessive force when inserting the memory card. Only apply slight pressure.
2. Switch on the hi-fi system and press the
Function button
to select SD CARD.
The hi-fi system then reads the content, and the display shows “READING”. The display will show
the total number of albums and files.
If there is no memory card inserted, “NO SD” is shown on the display.
3. Press the
Play/Pause button
to start playback with the first file of the first album.
Playing the contents of an USB memory stick
1. Insert the USB plug into the
USB socket
.
Notes:
The hi-fi system must be switched off while the USB connection is being made. If it is not
switched off, data can be lost.

to select USB.
The hi-fi system then reads the content, and the display shows “READING”. The display will show
the total number of albums and files.
If no device is connected, “NO USB” is shown on the display.
3. Press the
Play/Pause button
to start playback with the first file of the first album.
Note:
The USB socket on the hi-fi system does not support a connection for a USB extension cable and is not
designed for directly connecting to a computer.
Removing the MMC/SD/SDHC card and USB device
1. Switch off the hi-fi system.
2. To remove the USB memory stick, simply pull out the device.
To remove the MMC/SD/SDHC memory card, press the card inwards slightly until the latch is
released. Then pull out the card.
Note:
Never remove memory cards and USB devices during operation. This can damage the memory card, the
USB device and the hi-fi system. This type of damage will invalidate your warranty.
