Tighten Vehicle Belt
Place one hand in the base
and push down
FIRMLY
on
the base while pulling up on
shoulder part of belt until
all slack is removed and lap
belt is tight.
Tip:
Push base down and
towards the vehicle seat back to help get a snug fit.
With a switchable retractor, feed the shoulder belt back into
the retractor while tightening.

Check Vehicle Belt
Tightness
Grasp the base at the
base belt path
with one
hand. Push and pull the
base from side to side,
forward and back. The base
at the belt path should not
move more than 2.5 cm (1 in.) and the vehicle belt should not
loosen.
NOTE:
If it moves more than 2.5 cm (1 in.) or if the vehicle belt
loosens, try reinstalling the infant restraint or try another seating
location. Check your vehicle owner’s manual or call DJG
Consumer Relations for help.

Check for Proper
Recline
Make sure level to
ground line on side of
infant restraint is level
with the ground.
NOTE:
You may need
to place a tightly rolled
towel(s) or foam pool
noodle(s) under the
front of the base to
achieve correct recline
angle.
Check often to be sure padding is still in place, the level
to ground line is still level and the belt is tight.
Failure to securely attach shell to base can
result in serious injury or death.
Carrying handle MUST be in the upright AND
locked position when installed in a vehicle.
Thread Vehicle Belt
Thread the vehicle lap or lap/
shoulder belt combination
through the base belt path as
shown.
Buckle the vehicle seat belt.
With an ALR belt, pull the
belt all the way out before threading the base.
With a switchable retractor, pull the shoulder belt all the
way out to switch the retractor into the ALR mode before
tightening.
