Illuminates whenever the safety bar (or flaps) is switched. It illuminates whether or not
the down control has been operated.
Specific fault finding checks are described in Section 5.
Cycle counter
A cycle counter is incorporated in SmartLift. The counter displays the number of motor starts.
Maintenance functions as described in Section 7 should be performed at the prescribed intervals, as
indicated by the counter. The cycle counter is a mechanical non resettable type, similar to a motor
car odometer. A new lift table will usually be supplied with up to 100 cycles indicated. These cycles
are performed during testing.
Safety recoil
When the safety bar is tripped, the following happens:
a.
The descent of the lift table is stopped to prevent crushing
b.
The lift table recoils (raises) a short distance
c.
A buzzer sounds for approximately two seconds to alert others nearby.
The recoil motion is over-ridden by the up limit switch and the lift table will not recoil if it is near to or
at the top of its travel.
The recoil function can be disabled by removing a jumper located on the board. If removed, the
jumper should be inserted on the adjacent storage pins.
Danger
:
Do not work on the electrical parts unless you are a qualified electrician.
Be certain to isolate the supply before performing any electrical work.
For pit installations with flaps, the recoil function is not desirable as it is prone to activate when the
lift table is almost fully lowered and the flaps become horizontal. Any lift table with flaps will be
despatched with the recoil function disabled. If the recoil function is not required for any other reason,
a qualified electrician can remove the jumper. However, the electrician should contact Safetech
before attempting to open the SmartLift enclosure.
Index function
This feature allows the lift table platform to travel through a predetermined distance upon each
operation of the controller. The SmartLift board can be configured for either up of down indexing but
not both at once. Unless otherwise specified, all SmartLift equipped lift tables will be despatched
configured for down indexing.
The operator can momentarily dab the up or down control and have the lift table ascend or descend
by a predetermined increment. This is particularly useful for manual palletising operations when the
ascent or descent increment is set to the height of one layer.
A trim pot is incorporated into the SmartLift board. Its spindle protrudes through the lid of the
SmartLift enclosure and can be adjusted with a screwdriver or small coin.
