OPERATION

INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY PACK

See Figure 1, page 8.

To install:

Lock the switch trigger by sliding the lock-off button into

the locked position.

Insert the battery pack into the product as shown.

Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack

snap into place and the battery pack is secured before
beginning operation.

To remove:

Lock the switch trigger by sliding the lock-off button into

the locked position.

Depress the latches on each side of the battery pack and

remove the battery pack from the tool.

For complete charging instructions, see the operator’s manual
for your battery pack and charger.

INSTALLING/REMOVING BLADE

See Figure 2, page 8.

To install the blade:

  Remove the battery pack.

Lift the blade clamp lock/release lever located on the side

of the saw.

Insert the saw blade between the blade clamp and the

saw bar.

Raise the blade clamp lever, push the lock lever in, and

release to lock the blade into place.

To remove the blade:

  Remove the battery pack.

Lift the release lever to release the blade from the blade

clamp.

SHOE ASSEMBLY

See Figure 3, page 9.

The shoe assembly of the reciprocating saw pivots up and
down in both directions. It is adjustable, allowing the use of
the blade teeth at different positions on the blade.
To change positions of shoe assembly:

  Remove battery pack.

Loosen the set screw near the shoe assembly with the

hex key provided with this saw.

NOTE: Hex key storage is located in the handle of the
saw.

Reposition shoe assembly to desired position.

Retighten set screw securely. Do not overtighten screw

or use an aid with the hex key.

Remove hex key and store for later use.

  Replace the battery pack.

TURNING THE SAW ON/OFF

See Figure 4, page 9.

The lock-off button, located on the handle above the switch
trigger, reduces the possibility of accidental starting.



To turn the saw on: Slide lock-off button to the unlocked
position, and press the switch trigger.



To turn the saw off: Release the switch trigger.

CAUTION:

The lock-off button should be in the locked position when
the saw is not in use or is being transported.

ORBITAL ACTION

See Figure 5, page 9.

Use the orbital action selector to select either a linear stroke
or orbital cutting action. A linear stroke is best for making
smooth cuts while orbital action is best for making a faster cut.
To select orbital action:

  Remove the battery pack.

Flip up the orbital action selector tab. Rotate the tab to

select the orbital action icon.

Push the tab down into place.

NOTE: To prevent damage to the tool, always allow motor
to come to a complete stop before using the orbital action
selector.
NOTE: Do not use the orbital action setting when using a
metal cutting blade.

GENERAL CUTTING

See Figure 6, page 9.

WARNING:

Make sure the blade does not touch work until motor
reaches full speed, since this could cause loss of control
resulting in serious injury.



Secure the workpiece to a work bench or table with a
vise or with clamps.



Mark the line of cut clearly.



Make sure the saw blade teeth are clean of any debris or
foreign material.



Hold the saw firmly in front of and clearly away from you.



Slide the lock-off button to the unlocked position and
depress the switch trigger.



Allow the saw blade to reach full cutting speed.



Set the shoe assembly against the workpiece.



Move the blade into the workpiece.

NOTE: Do not force. Use only enough pressure to keep
the saw cutting. Let the blade and saw do the work. Keep
pressure on the shoe, against the workpiece.
