OPERATION

 WARNING:

To avoid serious personal injury, always check for gas
leaks any time the propane cylinder is disconnected and
then reconnected.

A 1 lb. propane cylinder must be connected to the heater
before it can be leak tested. The cylinder installs in only
one position to help prevent it from cross-threading into
the regulator.

To connect:

  Remove the cylinder cap.

Place a propane cylinder into the opening as shown,

making sure the threaded outlet is seated in the propane
inlet.

Turn the cylinder clockwise to secure. Hand tighten only.

Using a clean spray bottle and a 50/50 mixture of mild

soap and water, spray soapy solution over the area indi-
cated by the arrow in figure 2.

“Growing” bubbles indicate a leak. Check that the con-

nection is not cross-threaded and that it is securely tight-
ened, then repeat the leak test. If a leak is still present,
remove the cylinder and try with a different cylinder. If
the leak is still present using a different cylinder, contact
customer service for repairs to the heater coupling.

If no leaks are present, you may proceed to start the

heater.

To disconnect:

Hold propane cylinder firmly and turn counter clockwise

to remove.

Place cap on cylinder valve outlet whenever the cylinder

is not in use.

NOTE:

Only use the type of cap provided with the cylinder

valve. Other types of caps or plugs may result in leakage
of propane.

SAFETY TIPS WHEN USING A PROPANE
CYLINDER TO FUEL THE HEATER

Before starting the heater, check the cylinder connection

for tightness and perform a leak test as described earlier
in this manual.

When heater is not in use, remove the 1 lb. cylinder.

INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY PACK

See Figure 4, page 13.

Insert the battery pack into the product as shown.

Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack

snap into place and the battery pack is secured before
beginning operation.

Depress the latches to remove the battery pack.

For complete charging instructions, see the operator’s manu-
als for your battery pack and charger.

 WARNING:

Always remove battery pack or unplug power cord from
your product when you are assembling parts, making
adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Removing
battery pack or unplugging power cord will prevent acci-
dental starting that could cause serious personal injury.

INSTALLING/REMOVING POWER CORD (NOT
INCLUDED)

See Figure 5, page 13.

Insert the female end of a 16 AWG rated outdoor exten-

sion cord into the product as shown.

Connect the male end of the extension cord to the power

source.

Make sure the extension cord is secured before beginning

operation.

STARTING/STOPPING THE HEATER

See Figure 6, page 13.

 WARNING:

Position the heater properly before use. Locate heater on
stable and level surface if heater is running and at least
(USA) 7 ft. (2.13 m) and (CAN) 10 ft (3 m) from and not
directed toward LP (propane) containers within 20 feet.

 WARNING:

When using the heater, have a type BC or ABC fire extin-
guisher readily available.

The heater should be inspected before each use, and at
least annually by a qualified service person.

To start:

Make sure the propane tank is properly connected and

a leak test has been performed.

Connect the heater to a power cord or approved battery

pack.

Press the on/off button. The LED will briefly display solid

orange and then flash green. Immediately press and hold
the gas valve button. The fan will start and the ignitor will
begin sparking.
