maintenance intervals and the type of maintenance to be carried out are described on
pages 16 and 17.
WARNING: Stop the engine before performing maintenance. If the engine must work,
check that the enclosure is well ventilated. Exhaust fumes contain harmful carbon
monoxide, exposure to which can cause unconsciousness and even death.
CAUTION: Use original or equivalent parts for maintenance or repair. Replaced parts
that are not equivalent may damage the pump.
Air filter: A clogged air filter (soaked with contaminants) will decrease the air flow in the
carburetor. To prevent carburettor malfunction, service the air filter regularly. Air filter
maintenance should be done more often if the pump is working in extremely dusty areas.
WARNING: Never use the pump without an air filter. Sucking in solid impurities such as
dust particles will cause rapid engine damage.
▪ Unscrew the wing nut, remove the air filter cover and filter element.
▪ Wash the filter element with warm water and detergent and dry it completely.
▪ Refit the filter element and filter cover.
Spark plug: To ensure proper engine operation, the spark plug must be cleaned of
deposits and have the electrode gap within the specified limits.

WARNING: If the engine has been running, the exhaust is very hot. Warning. Do not
touch!

Visually check the spark plug. Replace spark plug that shows apparent wear
or has a cracked or pinched dielectric. If the spark plug is in a reusable
condition, clean it with a wire brush.
▪ The distance between the electrodes is measured with a measuring tape. It
will have a value of 0,7 - 0,8mm. If necessary, correct the value by bending
the side electrode.
