Other essential configuration steps:
Default parameters will be loaded. However, you will need to enter the other parameters on your own.
1.
Select which protocol will be used:
UDP
protocol is less reliable than the
TCP
but also uses less
traffic.
TCP
uses more internet traffic, but it is more reliable. Choose one according to your needs.
2.
Enter an
IP
address (255.255.255.255 format) or a Domain Name (no longer than 40 characters)
along with a
Port
in the
Connection settings
where the device will send collected data. No
default server is provided.
3.
Fill the
APN settings
(Access Point Name). This includes the APN name, user login and password
(if login and password are needed). No default APN is provided.
4.
Select the COM port through which you connected your FM device to the computer.
5.
Click the
Connect
button, located just below the port selector. Now the FM device is connected
and the configuration is ready to be sent to the device.
6.
Click the
Send CFG
button to upload the configuration to your device.
Now the device is configured to send data to the specified server. Sample IO parameters are enabled
(loaded with the configuration file). You can log in to your tracking platform to see whether the device is
sending data.
Note
APN name, login and password should be provided by your mobile network operator.
