Router Installation
To install the power cable:
1)
Check the router is in the power off position. Connect one end of the supplied power cable to the socket on the
rear panel of the cabinet and another to the AC power socket.
2) Turn the router to power on position.
3) Check the power indicator on the front panel is on. If it is, it means that the power cable is correctly connected.
Connecting Console
Ruijie series routers supply an EIA/TIA-232 configuration console for local configuration.

To connect the console port of the router:
1)
Plug the supplied DB-9 or DB-25 connector to the serial port of the microcomputer or terminal on which the router
is to be configured. If you use a microcomputer, check it has a hyper terminal.
2)
Connect one end of the supplied configuration cable to the console port of the router and another to the RJ45
interface with a DB-9 or DB-25 connector.
Installing Line card
This part does not include hot-plugging. For details on hot-plugging, refer to Chapter 5 and section
Reliability Configuration of RGOS Configuration Guide on CD.
Installing Line card
1)
Switch off all power supply connected to the router. Otherwise electric shock and device damage may occur.
2)
Place the router in such a way that its front panel faces you.
3)
Flush the module interface board and the edge of the opening of the front panel of the router base.
4)
Drive the module into the router. Turn the wrench on the barrier of the cable clip module clockwise till the module
is in close contact with the front panel of the host.
5)
Tighten the fastening screw on the module.
