Only when the temperature has been reached can you slot the basket containing the
food into its mounts.
Close the lid and let the basket sink into the hot oil by pressing the release button (6)
for the handle. You can watch the food frying through the viewing window (2).
To take the food out, open the lid and when you lift the handle (7) upwards, the frying
basket will automatically come out of the oil.
So that as little oil as possible is left on the food, shake the basket well a couple of
times so that the oil drips off. Cover the food with some paper towels. This will soak up
a lot of the excess oil that is still on the food.
o
When you have finished frying, you must turn the thermostat knob (12) back to 0
immediately, turn the On/Off (11) off and unplug the appliance from the mains. Leave the
lid off and wait until the oil has cooled down. Then you can clean the appliance.
o
If you want to prepare food that cannot be fried in the basket because it would get stuck on
the metal (e.g. apples or fish in batter, etc.), you have to place it directly in the oil. Be
careful and make sure you use the correct kind of ladle. Never let the food fallen into the
hot oil with bare hands. You may get burnt.
FROZEN FOOD
Special precautionary measures
o
If you put ice or water in the hot oil of the deep fat fryer, the hot oil is likely to spray out,
which could in turn lead to burns. The hot oil will also foam and bubble up so much that it
will increase the volume inside the fryer's bowl to a dangerous level. To avoid this you must
follow the instructions below:
Only put frozen goods in the fryer a little bit at a time.
Before putting the frozen food inside the fryer remove any ice that may be on it.
Lower it gently into the hot oil. Follow the instructions on the frozen food packaging.
CLEANING
o
Turn the thermostat knob (12) to 0, turn the On/Off switch (11) off and disconnect from the
mains.
o
Do not clean the appliance until the oil has cooled down.
o
Clean the external parts of the fryer with a damp cloth.
o
Clean the container (8) preferably with soap and water, but only do this when you have to
change the oil. Dispose of the oil as specified and do not pour it down the drain.
o
You can pull the lid off the fryer and then clean the viewing window thoroughly with
o
soap and water. Do not put the lid in the dishwasher.
o
You get best results if you clean the frying basket with hot water and soap. Make sure that
o
the basket is completely dry.
o
Put the lid back on the fryer and close it so that the oil stays fresh.
