Maintenance
Refer to the following information for performing maintenance on your server, muting an alarm, restoring factory
defaults, or upgrading the software.
Alarm
All servers feature audible alarms inside the chassis to notify the user of cooling fans and power supply failures.
The server contains both primary and redundant fans and power supplies. A failure of either of these components causes
the system to alarm and to automatically switch over to the redundant item. The server will continue operating with the
failed component.
You can mute the audible alarm and failure notification from the front of the server, and continue working until you are
able to service the failed component.
When a failure occurs, the audible alarm sounds and the red
Alarm Mute
button on the front of the chassis flashes.
Tip:
Lift the clear cover and press the red
Alarm Mute
button to silence the audible alarm. The button will continue to flash as long as
the alarm state still exists.
Media Drive
The server uses an SSD media drive to store all media content.
Disk Space
The amount of free disk space that is available for clips is shown at the top of the
Tria Explorer
window. The free space
is shown in time (HH:MM:SS:FF) and percentage of free space on the drive. When the amount of free space goes below
10% the text is highlighted in yellow. If the amount of free disk space goes below 5% the text is highlighted in red.
Tip:
When the amount of free disk space goes below 5% you should consider removing unused content in order to free-up media disk
space. To assist you in locating older or unused content, the Clip Library contains
Date Loaded
and
Date Played
columns that can be
used to sort content.
To Replace the Media Drive
The media drive in the server can be replaced. This is useful for increasing the amount of storage, replacing a failed
drive, or moving your media library from one server to another.
Note:
You can only have a single media drive in the server at a time. If you want to use multiple SSDs in the server as the media drive,
you must set them up as a raid array.
1.
Power off the server and disconnect the power cords from the mains power.
2.
Locate the media drive at the front of the server.
3.
Slide the silver tabs on the drive doors to the right to unlock the doors.
4.
Pull the bay doors open and remove the drives.
ESD Susceptibility:
Static discharge can cause serious damage to sensitive semiconductor devices. Avoid handling
the server components in high static environments such as carpeted areas and when synthetic fiber clothing is worn.
Touch the frame to dissipate static charge before removing boards or drives from the chassis and exercise proper
grounding precautions when working on circuit boards.
5.
With the connectors facing the server, slide the new drives into the slots in the server.
6.
Push the bay doors closed to secure the drives in the server.
