• Always press the reset button 13 after replacing
the battery. That will ensure that the appliance
always works reliably.
If the sensor connector 7 is not plugged in, the
display goes blank after a few seconds. Now
plug in the connector fully; only then is the
thermometer ready for use.
6. Connecting the sensor
• Carefully plug the sensor connector 7 into the
socket at the bottom of the thermometer and
push it fully home. Please note that the sensor
must not be exposed to temperatures higher
than 300°C/572°F.
• Without the sensor connected, the thermometer
cannot be switched on and the displays shows
"
Err
".
Please make sure that when used in barbecue
appliances, the lead is not routed out of the
appliance directly over very hot surfaces, e.g.
directly over the glowing charcoal or the hot
burner. Route the sensor lead so that there is
no heat source directly underneath it.
Positioning the sensor
When inserting the sensor, make sure that the tip
of the sensor is inserted into the thickest part of
the meat/roast. Only in that way can you be sure
that the meat has reached the desired core tempe-
rature.
