Store perishable foods in the freezer or fridge. Vacuum-sealing extends the storage time of food, but
does not turn it into a ‘preserve’, i. e. a product stable at room temperature.
Vacuum-packed food which has been heated and then left still vacuum-packed at room temperature
is susceptible to pathogenic micro-organisms multiplying within just a few hours without an essential
influence on the taste. This food can be unhealthy or even life-threatening.
13 Troubleshooting
Appliance does not work
• Check whether cord or plug shows damage. If so – do not operate the appliance.
• Check the correct fitting of the wall plug. Check the socket by plugging in another appliance.
• In case of overheating, the appliance switches off automatically. In this case let it cool down for
20 minutes and try again.
• Check if the upper part of the appliance is correctly (audibly) locked at both sides.
Appliance does not create a complete vacuum inside the foil bag
• For a correct sealing process the open end of the bag must extend completely into the vacuum
chamber.
• Check the sealing bar, the rubber lip and the seals for soilings. Clean them and put them back into
the correct position.
• Check if the upper part of the appliance is correctly (audibly) locked at both sides.
• Check the foil bag for damage.
Appliance does not seal the foil bag correctly or at all
• Check if the upper part of the appliance is correctly (audibly) locked at both sides.
• Check if the seals of the vacuum chamber show dents or are damaged, soiled, inserted incorrectly or
worn out. Clean the seals (upper and lower one) or replace by new ones.
• If the sealing bar gets too hot and the foil of the bag melts, open the lid and let the sealing bar cool
down for a few minutes.
• This appliance is produced in compliance with current safety standards. In case of overheating, the
appliance switches off automatically. Let it cool down for 20 minutes and try again.
Foil bag loses its vacuum after sealing
• Wrinkles, crumbs, grease or humidity can cause leaky spots at the seam sealing. Reopen the foil bag,
clean the upper part of the bags inside and outside as well as the sealing bar. Then seal again.
• Check the foil bag for damage. Padding out sharp edges of the contents using kitchen paper is
recommended.
