8. Move the TapMate XL‑424 into position
(see
fig. 36)
and bolt it to the Valve. Care needs to
be taken to properly align the TapMate XL‑
424 Machine to the Valve.
NOTE: Incorrect alignment can result
in damage to the Valve, Tapping Sleeve
and or Pipe.
Adequately support the TapMate XL‑424 so as
not to put stress on the Pipe, Valve or Tapping
Sleeve. Ensure that this support will accommo‑
date the travel distance of the Thrust Tube and
Brake Tube during the tap.
NOTE: Do not support the machine by
the threads.
9. With the TapMate XL‑424 secured to the
Valve and supported, disconnect and remove
the Lifting Chains.
