models)
The main fan bearings are permanently sealed and
do not need l

brication. Before cleaning, t

rn off f

and electrical s

pply. Remo
v
e the heater side
panels and
u
se a small br
u
sh or d
u
ster to clean the
fan blades from each side. Replace panels
w
hen
done.

Check the condition and tension of the dri

e belts.
The condition is best inspected

ith the belts
remo
v
ed. Check for chaffing or lateral cracks.
Replace belts as a matched pair as necessary.
Do not o

er-tighten belts, as this may ca

se bearing
damage.
12.4 Heat Exchan

er Maintenance
Ens

re that the front collector box is clean and that
the t

rb
u
lators fitted to the t
u
bes are in good
condition.
Also inspect the joint bet
w
een the heat exchanger
and the fl
u
e to ens
u
re that it is still sealed.

t any deposits from fl

ays and the

stion chamber,

sing a

ac
uu
m cleaner
and br
u
sh. Inspect the comb
u
stion chamber
and heat exchanger for damage or corrosion.
6. Any damage m
u
st be referred to
Roberts-Gordon E
u
rope Limited.
7. Replace components in re
v
erse order to abo
v
e
- replacing gasket material and any damaged
t
u
rb
u
lators.
8. Inspect and repair any damage to the seal
bet
w
een the fl
u
e and the fl
u
e spigot.
12.5 Thermal Insulation
While the
u
pper panels are remo
v
ed for heat
exchanger ser
v
icing, the thermal ins
u
lation fitted to
all the
u
pper panels m
u
st be inspected. Ins
u
lation
sho
u
ld be so
u
nd,
w
ith the foil face in good condition.
If any thermal ins
u
lation is in poor condition, then it
m
u
st be replaced
w
ith ne
w
ins
u
lation material and
s
u
itably sealed at the edges
w
ith adhesi
v
e foil tape.
