OMMISSIONING

10.1.1 Louvers
Where fitted, the air deli v ery lo uv ers need to be set
d u ring commissioning to gi v e the req u ired air
distrib u tion.
10.1.2 Electrical Checks
All pre-commission checks m u st be carried o u t
before commissioning the heater.
1. Check that all site w iring is connected in
accordance w ith the appropriate w iring dia-
grams sho w n on Page 28, Section 9.3 through
Page 39, Section 9.14 .
2. Check the correct f u se size is fitted in the local
s u pply isolator. See Page 11, Section 4.4 .
10.1.3 Polarity Test - 1 Ø
10.1.4 Polarity Test - 3 Ø
Voltage bet w een each phase L1, L2 and L3 and
Earth or Ne u tral sho u ld be approximately 230 V.
Voltage bet w een any 2 phases sho u ld be
approximately 400 V. Test Ne u tral to Earth as single
phase.
10.1.5 Fan Rotation Check
S w itch on the electricity s u pply at the isolator and
the man u al s w itch to "fan on" (if no remote fan s w itch
is installed, press the w hite b u tton on the fan/limit
thermostat). On 3 Ø heaters, check the rotation of
the main fan. Rotation sho
u ld be in the direction of
the arro w sho w n on the fan ho u sing. If rotation is not
correct, t u rn off the isolator and change o v er any
t w o of the incoming s u pply phases and recheck. It
w ill be necessary to remo v e the lo w er front or right
side panel to see fan rotation.
10.1.6 Fan Motor Overload Check
On 3 Ø belt dri v e heaters, check the correct settings
of the fan motor o v erload. This sho u ld be 0.2 A
abo v e the rated c u rrent on the heater data plate.
See Page 11, Figure 4.4 . The belt tension and
alignment sho u ld also be checked and adj u sted as
sho w n on Page 52, Figure 23 .
10.1.7 Mechanical Checks
1. Check that the fl u e is installed in accordance
w ith these instr u ctions and local reg u lations.
2. Check that the settings of the Combination Fan/
Limit thermostat are correct - See Page 41,
Figure 17 .

10.1. 8 Burner ( g as heaters)
T w o-stage (High/Lo w ) b u rners ha v e additional
specific req u irements. Follo w the man u fact u rer's
instr u ctions, the data pro v ided on Page 11, Section
4.4 through Page 13, Section 4.7 , and the
commissioning instr u ctions on See Page 43,
Section 10.3 .
10.1.9 Gas Supply
All aspects of the gas installation, incl u ding the gas
meter, m u st be inspected, tested for so u ndness and
p u rged in accordance w ith local and national codes.
Ens u re that the air is f u lly p u rged from the heater
inlet pipe u p to the main gas v al v e inlet test nipple.
Adj u st the press u re s w itch located on the D u ngs gas
v al v e to 50% of its minim u m inlet w orking press u re.
10.1.10 Before Operatin g the Heater
Ens u re the b u rner head, air damper and press u re
s w itch settings are adj u sted for the correct b u rner in
accordance w ith the Data Tables on Page 11,
Section 4.4 through Page 14, Section 4.8 (see the
b u rner reference letter on data plate).
To ens u re that all the controls are in safe w orking
order, operate the heater for the first time w ith the
isolating gas v al v e t u rned off.

2. Using the installed external control, t u rn on the
b u rner. The a u tomatic seq u ence w ill no w begin
as described on Page 43, Figure 18 .
There w ill be no ignition of the b u rner and locko u t
w ill occ u r, w hich pro v es the controls are operating
correctly.
