ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Caution:
For your own safety read the following instructions carefully before attempting to connect
this unit to the mains. Before switching on make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is
the same as that indicated on the rating plate.
This unit is designed to operate on AC 230V 50Hz current only. Connecting it to other power
sources may damage the unit. Do not allow this unit to be exposed to rain or moisture.

Positioning your Toaster
Caution:
Bread can burn. Do not place or operate the toaster below curtains or other combustible
materials. Do not leave the toaster unattended when in use.
•
Do not operate the toaster underneath cupboard units. Ensure the toaster is placed
away from walls.
•
Always allow the toaster to cool completely after use before moving it.
•
Never move the toaster by placing fingers in or near the bread slot.
Safety
•
Ensure the mains lead is kept clear from hot objects and surfaces.
•
Ensure close supervision when operating toaster while children are present.
•
Always allow the toaster to cool completely after use before storing it.
•
Ensure bread fits easily into the slot before using toaster. Torn or thick bread can
cause the toaster to jam.
•
NEVER attempt to remove bread if it becomes jammed in the slot, without first
unplugging the toaster from the mains supply. Allow to cool completely before
removal.
•
Take care not to damage the internal mechanism when removing bread.
•
Internal parts can be easily damaged. Do not touch the internal parts of the toaster with
any implement as this is very dangerous and could cause an electrical hazard.
Special Notes:
When the toaster is plugged in and operating for the first time, there may be a slight burning
odour, as the heating elements warm up. This represents no danger to the user and does not
indicate a defect in the appliance. When using for the first time, allow the toaster to heat up until
the odour clears.
It is advisable to first operate the toaster without placing bread in the slot.
1. Connect the toaster to the mains supply .
2. Set the browning control (B) to the lowest setting (1).
3. Press the loading handle (A) down and allow the heating elements to warm.
4. Allow elements to heat up until burning odour clears.
5. Press CANCEL button (C) to release loading handle.

ACCESSIBLE SURFACES CAN REACH HIGH TEMPERATURES DURING OPERATION.
TOASTER OPERATION
•
Ensure the toaster is connected to mains supply.
•
Place one or two slices of bread or toasts into the slot, adjust the browning control (B)
to achieve the amount of toasting desired, then depress the loading handle (A) until it
latches.
•
The toaster will heat up automatically and start toasting.
Note:
The loading handle (A) will not latch if the mains supply is not connected.
•
To stop toasting press the CANCEL button (C) at any time.
•
Lift the loading handle (A) to check the bread during toasting.
•
When toasting is finished the loading handle (A) will rise automatically. The toast can
then be safely removed.
•
If the toast is not dark enough, you may wish to toast the bread again.
•
Adjust the browning control (B) to a lower setting and replace the toast. Ensure the toast
does not burn while re-toasting.
