Precautions
• Operate the unit only as described in this manual.
• The
fl uid-contacting parts of this product are made of sapphire and PFA,
which provides high resistance against corrosion by hydrofl uoric acid.
However, gradual corrosion may occur in some cases. If hydrofl uoric acid
was left in the unit for a long time, replacement of fl uid-contacting parts
may become necessary.
• In order to ensure long life of this product, the sample fl uid should be
removed as soon as possible after measurement and replaced by a suitable
fl uid that serves to clean the system and does not cause corrosion (such
as pure water, alcohol, or similar). When doing this, care must be taken
to avoid adverse reactions due to unsuitable fl uid combinations.
• Depending on conditions such as the liquid type, concentration, and tem-
perature, the sample fl uid may gradually corrode the fl uid-contacting parts,
leading to leaks. It is therefore essential to carry out regular inspections.
• Store the unit in locations within the prescribed temperatures and humid-
ity ranges (-10°C to +50°C, 90% RH and less).
• Use the unit in locations within the prescribed temperatures and humidity
ranges (+15°C to +35°C, 80% RH and less).
If the temperature of the sample fl uid is lower than the environmental
temperature, condensation may occur. Take suitable countermeasures
such as using purge gas (refer to the section “Precautions against con-
densation” on page 10).
• Do not use or store the unit in locations which
- may be subject to condensation by sudden changes in temperature, or
- may be subject to splashes of water or other fl uids, or
- may be subject to direct sunlight, or
- may be subject to air with high salt or sulfur content, to corrosive
chemicals, or to gases, or
- may be unstable or inclined, or
- may be subject vibrations or shock.
• If the unit is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the
protection provided by the unit may be impaired.
