Rotate the adjusting knob to re-seat the sealing rod.
5. While the flask is still in the flask chamber
with vacuum being pulled on it, open the
hood door and charge the crucible with the
appropriate amount of alloy for your next
flask. Close the door.
6. After 45 seconds, rotate the flask chamber
locking cam lever to the left to unlock and
lower the flask chamber from the crucible
chamber.
7. Swing the flask chamber open.
8. Check that the sprue button has solidified.
9. Turn the vacuum valve to the off position to
release the vacuum in the flask chamber and
allow you to remove the flask.
Please Note: Your vacuum pump will run cooler
and last longer at high vacuum. Keep the flask
chamber vacuum valve closed between castings
while allowing the vacuum pump to run.
10. Using flask tongs, remove the cast flask.
Continue through the steps above for each cast
until all flasks are cast.
Important! If you’re casting different alloys, we
strongly recommend that you change crucibles
to avoid any cross-contamination.
•
Warning! Be extremely careful when
changing crucibles in a hot machine. The
crucible, stirring and sealing rods, crucible
chamber hood, and other parts around the
crucible can cause severe burns when hot.
Use all recommended safety precautions and
equipment.
Exposing a hot crucible to the air causes the
crucible to oxidize rapidly, significantly
shortening the life of the crucible. Use a
Neutec™ crucible cooling jar to isolate and
protect the crucible while it cools.
