Removing the Rod Assembly
Neutec™ strongly recommends this procedure
be done only on a cool machine. If the machine
has been running, the thermocouple will be hot
and could cause severe burns if you handle it
without protection. Use gloves or other safety
gear that will let you perform the task without
burning yourself.
1. Unplug the thermocouple lead wire from
the machine.
2. Pull the thermocouple up and out of the
sealing rod.
Unplug and remove the thermocouple.
3. Hold the sealing rod holder tube, loosen
the sealing rod collar screw, pull the tube all
the way up, and lightly tighten the
collar screw.
4. Turn the hood counter-clockwise until the
hood lugs are clear.
Turn the hood counter-clockwise.
5. Lift the hood carefully off of the machine,
and lay it face up on a non-flammable work
surface.
6. Loosen the sealing rod collar screw and
remove the sealing rod and its holder from
the hood by sliding it down and out.
7. Loosen the sealing rod clamp with a 5mm
Allen wrench and remove the worn sealing
rod.
Loosen the sealing rod clamp.
