Ember Installation Guide: 12890-B 02-18
Flue cowl needs to a 500 mm clearance from
the nearest ridge line of the roof. In this instance
the flue pipe has been painted to match the
roof.
Self-supporting coaxial flue; inner
Ø 100 mm, outer Ø 170 mm. Requires
10 mm clearance to a combustible
surface. Flue pipes twist and lock into
place.
Colinear to coaxial adaptor supported
and secured in place. Flexi flues clamped
and screwed to the connections.
Base of enclosure MUST BE level
and allow free movement of the
appliance for maintenance and
servicing.
Zero clearance frame fitted
prior to final cladding, refer
next page.
600 mm maximum
Maximum
vertical flue length
is 10 m. If adding 2 x 45
°
bends
(maximum number of bends),
then the flue length reduces by
2 m, refer p. 33.

2
Modify the enclosure
Ensure the enclosure meets the requirements set out on p. 9.
Gas and electrical connections
Prepare gas and electrical connections, refer p. 8.
3
Install the zero clearance frame
Install the zero clearance frame into the enclosure and fix in place with the screws
provided. This frame is critical and must be installed as it automatically gives the required
clearances to combustibles. Refer p. 18 for installation details.
4
Flue system installed
Install the coaxial* to colinear adaptor. Ensure it is self supported with the frame and
screwed in place. Attach the intake and exhaust flexi flues to the adaptor, clamp and screw
into place—check clearances are maintained. Add colinear sections as required, these
twist and lock into place.
5
6
Attach flexi flues to the flue spigot plate
Undo the two front screws holding the flue spigot in place and attach the flexi to the
spigot using the clamps provided and screw into place, refer p. 19.
7
Attach the flue spigot back onto the engine
Line up the spigot plate with the flue guide rails on top of the unit, slide the unit into place,
and secure the spigot—two front screws.
8
Secure Ember to the zero clearance frame
Secure engine to the zero clearance frame—nine screw positions (three LHS, three top,
and three RHS).
9
Complete the gas connection
Make the gas connection.
10
Install the burn media and commission
Install the glass, granules, rockwool, logs or stones. Refit the combustion chamber glass
and commission, refer p. 20-26.
Install the frame
Install the frame, refer p. 27.
* Can’t be more than 600 mm maximum due to the heat from the colinear flexi flues.
