When the paper [7] passes between the drum [2] and the
transfer roller [8], the charge on the transfer roller pulls the
toner off the drum onto the paper to form the image.
The cleaning blade [9] removes unused toner from the
surface of the drum. The toner removed from the drum by
the cleaning blade is collected in the waste toner unit [10].
The paper passes out between the drum and transfer roller,
and goes to the fusing unit.
