ACTION
When encountering SC750, verify if the cause of the SC is due to the fault of the
supporting plates as described in the above CAUSE by following the check procedure
below.
-Check procedure-
1. Turn off the machine power and disconnect the power cable from the Booklet Finisher.
2. Remove the rear cover. (Refer to the procedure in the field service manual.)
3. Support the shift tray with your right hand.
4. Disengage the gear that ascends/descends the shift tray by pulling it with your left hand.
(See the photos below.)
CAUTION: The shift tray could free-fall and result in damage if not supported with your
right hand. Make sure to support the tray when disengaging the gear.
5. With the gear disengaged, check if the shift tray supported with your right hand can
smoothly descend and ascend.
If smooth motion of the shift tray is confirmed, the SC750 encountered is irrelevant to the
ascend/descend behavior of the shift tray.
If the shift tray does not move smoothly or does not move at all, do the modification
procedure described on the following pages.

Support the tray with your right
hand to prevent free-fall.
