2. ADF
The sheet through type ADF feeds the document from the bottom page of the
document stack on the table.
The pick-up [A] and feed roller [B] feed the original into the scanner, and the
separation roller [C] helps to feed one sheet at a time. Then, the R1 roller [D],
feeds the document through the scanner.
At the time of scanning, the scanner moves to the scanning position. The
pressure plate [E] pushes the document to the exposure glass at the scan
line, so that the document is within the image sensor’s range of focus.
After scanning, the ADF feeds out the document onto the tray, and the scan-
ner moves back to the home position.
