Minimum/maximum values
The base station always displays the minimum and maximum values of the last 24 hours. It is
not possible to delete these values manually (however, the values for the outdoor sensor are
reset if you start a manual search for the outdoor sensor on the base station).
The minimum values (“MIN”) and maximum values (“MAX”) of the temperature are shown
at the top edge of the display.
The minimum values (“MIN”) and maximum values (“MAX”) of the humidity are shown
at the bottom edge of the display.
Use the “IN/OUT” button (9) to switch the display between the values of the base
station and those of the outdoor sensor.
Warning of glaze ice or frost
If the outside temperature is in the range of -2 °C to +3 °C, a snowflake symbol “ ” is
displayed to the left of the outdoor temperature. This symbol warns of glaze and black ice.
Range
The transmission range of the radio signals between the outdoor sensor and the base sta-
tion is up to 30 m under optimum conditions.
This transmission range data refers to the so-called “free-field range”. However,
this ideal arrangement (e.g., base station and outdoor sensor on a plain, even
meadow without trees, houses, etc.) never exists in practice.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission, no specific range can be guaran-
teed. However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house.
The range can be significantly reduced by proximity to cables, pipes, metal pieces, electron-
ic devices, and similar. Thick walls, steel construction, laminated insulated glass windows,
etc., also reduce the range very significantly.
If you notice that the base station does not contain any measured values of the outdoor
sensor, check the condition of the batteries in the outdoor sensor first. Following that, select
another location for the base station and the outdoor sensor. If required, perform a manual
search for the outdoor sensor (see chapter “Manual search for the outdoor sensor”).
Disposal
a) General
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the cur-
rent statutory requirements.
Remove any inserted battery/rechargeable battery and dispose of it separately
from the product.
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled
with these symbols to indicate that the disposal of them in the household waste is
forbidden. The symbols of the critical heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mer-
cury, Pb = Lead.
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official col-
lection points in your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable
batteries are sold!
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environ-
ment!
Maintenance and cleaning
a) General
The product is maintenance-free for you; you should never dismantle it (except for inserting/
replacing the batteries as described in these operating instructions). Any maintenance or
repair work may be performed only by an expert.
The outside of the housing should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could damage
the housing (discolouring) or impair operation. Also, do not press too hard on the
display, as this may cause scratch marks or damage the display.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
b) Changing the battery
A battery change is necessary when the display contrast on the base station or outdoor
sensor decreases significantly or a battery symbol appears in the display.
At that time, exchange the used/flat batteries for new ones and dispose of them in an envi-
ronmentally correct manner; see chapter “Disposal”.
